Version 0.0 — An invitation to co-create
Open source began with a simple idea:
Software should belong to the people who use it.
Over the past decades, open source has built remarkable ways for people to share code, fix bugs, contribute features, and collaborate across the world.
But for many of us, it's also the beginning of a technical journey. We rarely acknowledge the gap between our expectations and the actual experience. The experience of using open-source software still feels far less accessible to us than it should have been.
Technical openness is only one part of the journey. People see software in different ways, and it's a quite big deal to truly place ourselves on the other side. There should have been a bridge, somewhere in between.
We are not satisfied with merely sharing the right to run, copy, study, distribute, and modify software. We strive to ensure we all enjoy the freedom of using software effectively, regardless of technical knowledge or expertise. We call for a new collaboration among developers and designers and all of whom related to meaningfully cooperating and negotiating in an open stage. Every step we take is aimed at a better user experience and narrowing the distance between technology and the people who rely on it.
User-centred
Open
Equal
Collaborated
We are here to propose a platform that strengthens everyone's voice in open source, and a place where even confusion, frustration, and usability problems, everyday experiences can be shared, discussed, and negotiated, and transformed into real improvements.
